Christopher Gravett is a British author and historian specialising in the study of medieval history, particularly arms, armour, and castles. He has worked as a curator at the Royal Armouries in the United Kingdom, where he contributed to the understanding and presentation of historical arms and armour.
Gravett has written numerous books for children and young adults, as well as for general readers, focusing on topics such as knights, medieval warfare, and fortifications. His works often provide detailed insights into the daily life, equipment, and tactics of medieval soldiers. Among his publications are titles for Osprey Publishing, including Norman Knight 950–1204 AD and English Medieval Knight 1200–1300.
In 2000, Christopher Gravett published Castle with Dorling Kindersley, a book that explores the construction, function, and history of castles in medieval Europe.
