Christophe Arleston is the common pen name of French comic-book writer and editor Christophe Pelinq. He also worked under the name Scotch Arleston.
Arleston is best known for creating the Lanfeust of Troy series and its sequels and prequels. L’ivoire du Magohamoth, the first Lanfeust de Troy book, was published on 1 September 1994, with Didier Tarquin as illustrator.
His Troy books use a fantasy world in which magic is part of daily life and each person has a particular power. The central character Lanfeust begins as a blacksmith’s apprentice whose usual power is melting metal, before contact with a sword reveals a wider and more powerful ability.
Arleston’s work connected to the Troy setting includes Trolls de Troy, illustrated by Jean-Louis Mourier, and Gnomes de Troy, illustrated by Didier Tarquin. Trolls de Troy: Het geheime vuur was published on 1 June 2000, and Gnomes de Troy: Trop meugnon was published on 21 May 2014.
