Recommended reading books for primary & secondary aged children in the UK
Chi Thai is a British Vietnamese independent filmmaker and producer who also writes for children. She has been described as a BIFA-nominated producer and a Screen International Star of Tomorrow.
Thai directed and produced a short film adaptation of The Promise, the Walker Books title by Nicola Davies and Laura Carlin. Her production company, Last Conker, received the BFI Vision Award for 2020 to 2022.
Walker Books credits Thai as producer of the film Raging Grace, which won two Grand Jury prizes at SXSW 2023.
Her debut children’s book, The Endless Sea (illustrated by Linh Dao), was published by Walker Studio, an imprint of Walker Books, on 6 March 2025 (ISBN 9781529516487).
