Chaaya Prabhat biography

Chaaya Prabhat is an illustrator and graphic designer from India. She has illustrated numerous children’s books published internationally, including titles for Penguin Random House, Scholastic, HarperCollins, and Lantana Publishing. Her work includes Bracelets for Bina’s Brothers (Charlesbridge, 2021), Raaga’s Song (Lantana Publishing, 2022), and The Culture of Clothes (Templar Publishing, 2023).

Prabhat has collaborated with authors such as Rajani LaRocca and Chitra Soundar. Her illustrations have appeared in books, magazines, and digital media. She holds a master’s degree in Graphic Design from Savannah College of Art and Design.

In 2023, Prabhat received the South Asia Book Award for her illustrations in Bracelets for Bina’s Brothers. She was shortlisted for the 2022 British Book Awards in the Illustrator of the Year category. Her work on Raaga’s Song was longlisted for the Klaus Flugge Prize in 2023.

Prabhat continues to illustrate children’s books for publishers in the UK, US, and India.
