Recommended reading books for primary & secondary aged children in the UK
Bryony Pearce is a British author known for her work in young adult fiction. She studied English Literature at the University of Cambridge. Pearce’s debut novel, Angel’s Fury, was published by Egmont in 2011 and won the Leeds Book Award in 2012. Her second novel, The Weight of Souls, was published by Strange Chemistry in 2013 and received the Wirral Grammar School Book Award.
Pearce has contributed to several anthologies, including Under My Hat: Tales from the Cauldron (2012), edited by Jonathan Strahan. Her other published works include Phoenix Rising (2015) and its sequel Phoenix Burning (2016), both published by Stripes Publishing. In 2017, she released Windrunner’s Daughter with Xist Publishing. Pearce’s novel Razorhurst was published in 2018, and Crush followed in 2019, both with Stripes Publishing. Raven’s Gate was published in 2020.
Pearce’s books have been shortlisted for several awards, including the Cheshire Schools Book Award and the Lancashire Book of the Year. She has appeared at literary festivals and events across the UK. In 2012, Angel’s Fury won the Leeds Book Award.
