Anita Ganeri is a British author renowned for her contributions to children’s non-fiction literature. She was born in Calcutta, India, and later moved to England. Ganeri studied French and German at the University of Cambridge, where she developed a strong foundation in languages and literature.

She is best known for her work on the Horrible Geography series, which presents geographical concepts in an engaging and accessible manner for young readers. The series has been well-received for its educational value and entertaining approach.
In addition to the Horrible Geography series, Ganeri has written numerous titles on world religions, including books on Hinduism, Buddhism, and Islam. Her work often aims to educate children about diverse cultures and beliefs, fostering understanding and curiosity.
Ganeri’s contributions to children’s literature have been recognised with several awards. Notably, she received the Blue Peter Book Award for Best Book with Facts in 2009 for her book Planet in Peril.
