Anastasiya Kanavaliuk is a Belarusian illustrator based in Poland. She holds a Master’s degree in Graphic Design, after completing earlier studies in graphic art and two years of Art and Design at university in Belarus.
Her professional work centres on children’s publishing, with commissions for picture books and middle-grade titles. She is represented by the Astound illustration agency and also undertakes freelance projects across editorial and commercial media.
Kanavaliuk has illustrated a range of books for English-language publishers. Her credits include The ABCs of Inclusion: A Disability Inclusion Book for Kids, Lupita’s Hurricane Palomitas, Please Be OK: A Story about Addiction, The Very Best Baseball Game: A Story about Disability and God’s Good Design for All of Us, Grandma’s Breath: Helping Kids Find Calm When Anxiety Tries to Overwhelm Them, and volumes in the Dream Keepers series such as Secrets of Moon Wood and Map to Starlight Hollow.
Her illustrations are characterised by detailed character design and an interest in storytelling through expressive, imaginative imagery. Alongside her publishing work, she has contributed art for magazines and cultural organisations.
