Amanda Wood biography

Amanda Wood is a children’s author, editor and publisher. She began her career as a natural history illustrator, including work connected with the Natural History Museum in London.

Wood was a founding director of Templar and served as its founding editor and publisher for more than 30 years. During that period she edited and wrote the Ologies non-fiction franchise, a series launched with Dragonology. Publisher biographies for Wood report sales of more than 19 million copies worldwide for the Ologies series.

As an author, Wood writes picture books and illustrated non-fiction. For Magic Cat Publishing she created the Baby Animal Tales series, which includes titles such as Goodnight, Little Duckling (2020) and Goodnight, Little Panda (2021), illustrated by Bec Winnel and Vikki Chu.

With Mike Jolley she created the Curiositree books for Wide Eyed Editions (The Quarto Group), including Curiositree: Natural World (2016) and Curiositree: Human World (2018).

Curiositree: Human World was first published by Wide Eyed Editions in 2018.
