Allie Brosh biography

Allie Brosh is an American author and artist known for her webcomic and blog, Hyperbole and a Half. The blog, launched in 2009, features autobiographical stories and illustrations created with Microsoft Paint. Brosh’s work gained widespread popularity for its distinctive visual style and candid exploration of personal experiences.

In 2013, Brosh published her first book, Hyperbole and a Half: Unfortunate Situations, Flawed Coping Mechanisms, Mayhem, and Other Things That Happened, through Touchstone Books. The book combines new material with content from her blog. It became a New York Times bestseller and was named one of the best books of the year by several publications.

Brosh’s second book, Solutions and Other Problems, was published by Gallery Books in 2020. This work also features illustrated essays and stories, some of which address mental health and personal challenges. Solutions and Other Problems was longlisted for the 2021 Andrew Carnegie Medal for Excellence in Nonfiction.

Brosh’s books have been translated into multiple languages and have received critical acclaim for their unique blend of humour and honesty. Her work has been recognised with a Goodreads Choice Award for Best Humor in 2013 for Hyperbole and a Half.
