Alison Weatherby is a British–Irish author known for her young adult historical mystery, The Secrets Act. The novel was published by Chicken House in April 2022 after winning the 2020 Open Coop competition. Set during the Second World War, the story follows codebreakers at Bletchley Park as they investigate a conspiracy among their ranks.
Weatherby spent over fifteen years working in the technology sector in Seattle before turning to fiction. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Sarah Lawrence College. Her debut novel was shortlisted for the Historical Association’s Young Quills Award in 2023.
Alison Weatherby is represented by Lucy Irvine at Peters Fraser & Dunlop. She leads school workshops on creative writing, codebreaking, and historical fiction for secondary pupils.
