Alison D. Stegert biography

Alison D. Stegert is an Australian children’s author known for her historical adventure and mystery fiction. Her debut novel, The Remarkables, was published by Chicken House in March 2024. Set in Victorian London, the story follows young aspiring engineer Bertie who investigates the disappearance of her inventor father, exploring themes of invention and determination.

Before writing full-time, Stegert worked as a school counsellor. She holds a Master of Counselling and applies her experience in education to her writing, aiming to create engaging and relatable stories for young readers.

The Remarkables was selected for the Times Children’s Book of the Week in 2024.
