Alice Wong biography

Alice Wong was a disabled activist, writer and editor. In 2013, she was appointed by President Barack Obama to the US National Council on Disability, and served on the council from 2013 to 2015.

In 2014, Wong founded the Disability Visibility Project, an online community focused on creating, sharing and amplifying disability media and culture. Her book work includes Disability Visibility: First-Person Stories from the Twenty-First Century, an anthology published in 2020.

Wong edited Disability Visibility: 17 First-Person Stories for Today, an edition adapted for young readers, published by Delacorte Press in 2021.
