Al Murphy is a British illustrator and author known for his distinctive, humorous artwork in children’s books and commercial projects. He has illustrated a range of picture books and collaborated with various authors. Among his notable works is the picture book School for Dads, written by Adam and Charlotte Guillain and published by Egmont. Murphy’s illustrations are also featured in Meet the Parents by Peter Bently, published by Simon & Schuster.
In addition to his work in children’s publishing, Murphy’s illustrations have appeared in advertising, editorial, and design projects for clients such as The Guardian, The Times, and The New York Times. His style is characterised by bold lines, playful characters, and a sense of wit that appeals to both children and adults.
Murphy’s portfolio includes collaborations with publishers such as Egmont, Simon & Schuster, and Macmillan. He has also worked on the Alfie Onion series by Anna Brooke, providing cover and interior illustrations.
