Aimee Lucido biography

Aimee Lucido is an American author known for her middle grade novels in verse. She studied computer science and creative writing at Brown University. Lucido has worked as a software engineer at several technology companies, including Google and Uber, alongside her writing career.

Her debut novel, Emmy in the Key of Code, was published by Versify in 2019. The book explores the intersection of music and coding through the story of a young girl navigating a new school and learning to code. The novel is written in verse and incorporates elements of computer programming language into its structure.

Lucido’s second novel, Recipe for Disaster, was published by Versify in 2021. This book follows a young protagonist as she explores her Jewish identity and family traditions, also told in verse.

In addition to her novels, Lucido is a crossword puzzle constructor, with puzzles published in outlets such as The New York Times and The American Values Club Crossword.

Her novel Emmy in the Key of Code was a 2020 Bank Street Best Children’s Book of the Year.
