Sarah Courtauld is a British author and illustrator known for her work in children’s literature. She has written a range of books for young readers, including both fiction and non-fiction titles. Courtauld is the author of the Invincibles series, which follows the adventures of two friends, Nell and Freddie. The series includes titles such as The Curse of the Catastrophic Cupcakes and The Hamster Rescue, published by Little Tiger.
In addition to her fiction work, Courtauld has contributed to the Usborne Young Reading series, retelling classic stories for younger audiences. Her adaptations include The Story of the Olympics and Oliver Twist, both published by Usborne. She has also written non-fiction titles, such as How to be a Princess and How to be a Detective, which introduce children to different roles and activities through engaging text and illustrations.
Courtauld’s writing is characterised by humour and accessibility, aiming to engage children and encourage a love of reading. She has also worked as a scriptwriter and performer, contributing to various projects in children’s media.
