Michelle Paver biography

Michelle Paver is a British author known for her historical and fantasy fiction for children and young adults. She attended Lady Margaret Hall, University of Oxford, where she studied biochemistry. After university, Paver worked as a partner in a London law firm before becoming a full-time writer.

Paver is best known for the Chronicles of Ancient Darkness series, which began with Wolf Brother in 2004. The series, set in prehistoric Europe, follows the adventures of a boy named Torak and his wolf companion. The six-book series includes Spirit Walker (2005), Soul Eater (2006), Outcast (2007), Oath Breaker (2008), and Ghost Hunter (2009). Wolf Brother has been translated into multiple languages and sold over a million copies in the UK.

Paver also wrote the Gods and Warriors series, set in the Bronze Age Mediterranean. The first book, Gods and Warriors, was published in 2012, followed by The Burning Shadow (2013), The Eye of the Falcon (2014), The Crocodile Tomb (2015), and Warrior Bronze (2016).

In addition to her children’s fiction, Paver has written adult novels, including Dark Matter (2010) and Thin Air (2016), both of which are ghost stories.

Michelle Paver won the 2010 Guardian Children’s Fiction Prize for Ghost Hunter, the final book in the Chronicles of Ancient Darkness series.
