Jules Howard biography

Jules Howard is a British zoologist, author, and science communicator. He has written several non-fiction books for children and young adults, focusing on zoology and natural history. His published works include Death on Earth: Adventures in Evolution and Mortality (2016), Sex on Earth: A Celebration of Animal Reproduction (2014), and Wonderdog: How the Science of Dogs Changed the Science of Life (2022). Howard has also authored children’s titles such as Prehistoric Creatures of the Order and Encyclopedia of Animals.

Howard’s books have been published by Bloomsbury, DK, and Wide Eyed Editions. He has contributed to educational resources and written articles for outlets including The Guardian. In addition to his writing, Howard has appeared on BBC radio and television programmes as a zoology expert. His book Wonderdog was shortlisted for the Royal Society Science Book Prize in 2022.
