John Pinder wrote about European politics and federalism. He was Honorary Professor at the College of Europe and Chairman of the Federal Trust in London. His book The Building of the European Union was published by Oxford University Press in a third edition in 1998.
Pinder co-authored The European Union: A Very Short Introduction with Simon Usherwood. The fourth edition is part of the Very Short Introductions series, has 152 pages, and was published as an ebook on 12 January 2018.
Pinder contributed to Preventing Conflict in the Post-Communist World: Mobilizing International and Regional Organizations, a Brookings Occasional Paper published by Brookings Institution Press through Bloomsbury Publishing as an ebook on 17 October 2001.
Pinder was also Honorary President of the European Union of Federalists. In Federalist Thinking, published by University Press of America through Bloomsbury on 13 December 2007, his professional description connects him with the Federal Trust, the College of Europe and the European Union of Federalists.
