Jessica Love is an American author and illustrator known for her work in children’s picture books. She studied at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and later attended The Juilliard School, where she trained as an actor. Love’s debut picture book, Julian Is a Mermaid, was published by Candlewick Press in 2018. The book has received recognition for its illustrations and storytelling.
In addition to her work as an author and illustrator, Love has contributed illustrations to other projects. Her second picture book, Julian at the Wedding, was published by Candlewick Press in 2020. Love’s books have been noted for their distinctive illustration style and themes of self-expression.
Jessica Love was awarded the Stonewall Book Award in 2019 for Julian Is a Mermaid.
