Recommended reading books for primary & secondary aged children in the UK
Jenny Pearson is a British author and primary school teacher. Her debut children’s novel, The Super Miraculous Journey of Freddie Yates, was published by Usborne in 2020. The book was shortlisted for the 2021 Costa Children’s Book Award and the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize. It was also longlisted for the Blue Peter Book Award.
Pearson’s second novel, The Incredible Record Smashers, was published by Usborne in 2021. Her third book, The Boy Who Made Everyone Laugh, was published in 2022. Her works are published in the UK and internationally.
Jenny Pearson’s books have been translated into several languages. She continues to write for children, drawing on her experience as a teacher. The Super Miraculous Journey of Freddie Yates was selected as a Times Children’s Book of the Week in 2020.
