Dugald Steer is a British author and editor known for his work in children’s literature. He studied English literature and philosophy at Bristol University. After completing his studies, Steer worked as an English teacher in Spain before joining Templar Publishing as an editor.
Steer is particularly recognised for his involvement with the Ology series, a collection of illustrated books that blend fiction and non-fiction elements. He wrote Dragonology: The Complete Book of Dragons, which was published by Templar Publishing in 2003. The book features detailed illustrations and interactive elements, presenting itself as a guide to the study of dragons. Following the success of Dragonology, Steer contributed to other titles in the series, including Egyptology: Search for the Tomb of Osiris and Pirateology: A Pirate Hunter’s Companion.
In addition to the Ology series, Steer has written a range of other children’s books, including picture books and early readers. His work often involves collaboration with illustrators and other writers. Steer has also edited numerous titles during his career at Templar Publishing.
One of his notable publications is Dragonology: The Complete Book of Dragons, first published in 2003.
