Chloë Perrin is a Welsh middle-grade fantasy author. She studied Creative Writing at Brunel University. Before her debut novel, she worked as a youth worker, drama tutor and professional storyteller.
Her debut novel is His Royal Hopeless, a middle-grade fantasy about Robbie Sinistevil, heir to the Sinistevil dynasty, who is expected to be evil but is naturally nice. The story follows Robbie as he tries to claim his wicked destiny and meet his mother’s expectations.
His Royal Hopeless was written for readers aged 9+ in its Chicken House rights information, and Scholastic’s school shop categorised it as suitable for ages 8–12. The book was longlisted for the 2019 Times/Chicken House Children’s Fiction Prize. His Royal Hopeless was published in paperback on 2 September 2021.
