Charlotte Guillain is a British author of children’s fiction and non-fiction, recognised for her engaging storytelling and educational content. She has written over 100 books, including the popular picture book series ‘George’s Amazing Adventures,’ which features titles such as Spaghetti with the Yeti and Pizza for Pirates. Spaghetti with the Yeti was shortlisted for the Roald Dahl Funny Prize and has been featured in CBeebies Bedtime Stories.
Before embarking on her writing career, Guillain worked as a bookseller, an English teacher, and an editor. She met her husband and co-author, Adam Guillain, while working with Voluntary Services Overseas in Zanzibar. Together, they began writing children’s books, often collaborating on projects that combine their talents.
One of their notable works is The Street Beneath My Feet, illustrated by Yuval Zommer. This book was shortlisted for the UKLA Book Awards 2018 and named an ALSC Notable Children’s Book in the All Ages category in 2018. It was also selected by The Guardian as one of 15 ‘modern classics.’ Their follow-up title, The Skies Above My Eyes, continues the innovative concertina format, exploring the sky and universe above us.
Guillain’s work spans various genres and formats, including board books, picture books, and non-fiction titles. Her books are known for their educational value, engaging narratives, and vibrant illustrations, making them popular choices for young readers and educators alike.
