Anna Rainbow is a British author who writes middle-grade and young adult fiction under her own name as well as the pseudonyms Anna Waterworth and Anna Day. She works professionally as a clinical psychologist in North East England.
Her middle-grade novel, Diamond Jack: Your Magic or Your Life, was published in January 2024 by Chicken House. It features a magical highway‑girl adventure inspired by historical highwaymen.
She also wrote the middle-grade adventure Antigua de Fortune of the High Seas, co-authored with Oli Hyatt and published by Chicken House.
Previously, Rainbow published the young adult series The Fandom and its sequel The Fandom Rising under the name Anna Day. The first book in the series was shortlisted in 2015 by Chicken House and sold in 24 international territories, with a TV option from Fox.
The most recent milestone in her career is the publication of Diamond Jack: Your Magic or Your Life in January 2024.

Diamond Jack is excellent book is a fast-moving and action-packed read, with great main protagonists to cheer for. There are plenty of surprises, many of which I didn’t see coming at all!

Antigua de Fortune of the High Seas by Anna Rainbow and Oli Hyatt explores themes of good and evil and love and hate and examines issues of gender and class expectations and family relationships and reconciliation. But most important of all the book is a great adventure story.
