Roma Agrawal is a structural engineer and author known for her work in promoting engineering and science to young people. She studied physics at the University of Oxford and completed a master’s degree in structural engineering at Imperial College London. Agrawal has contributed to the design and construction of several major engineering projects, including The Shard in London.
Agrawal has written books aimed at making engineering accessible to a wider audience. Her children’s book, How Was That Built?, was published by Bloomsbury in 2021. The book explores the design and construction of remarkable buildings and structures around the world, aiming to inspire curiosity about engineering among young readers.
In addition to her writing, Agrawal has been involved in outreach and public engagement, delivering talks and participating in events to encourage interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). She has received recognition for her efforts to promote diversity and inclusion within engineering.
