A-level Spanish AQA online course

If being able to speak one of the most common languages in the world and communicate in over twenty countries sounds appealing to you, then you’re in the right place. There’s a reason why A-level Spanish is the most popular foreign language – employers and universities around the world highly prize it.

You’ll learn much more than simply how to speak Spanish; you’ll develop the ability to understand different dialects and you’ll even examine economic, social and cultural differences between northern and southern Spain. You’ll immerse yourself in Spanish culture, looking at attitudes towards topics such as marriage, divorce and families. You’ll practise reading, writing and speaking Spanish, focusing on the topics of politics, immigration, media, cultural celebrations and Hispanic communities.

By completing our online A-Level Spanish course, you will receive up to 56 UCAS points, which are used as part of university applications, and issued by AQA.

Course Outcome

Upon successfully passing your exams, you will receive an A-level in Spanish, issued by the AQA exam board. You’ll also receive 56 UCAS points that will assist in a University course application.

This syllabus (7692) has been chosen specifically because it is best suited to distance learning.

How is this course assessed or examined?

You will be required to complete three standard papers:

    • Paper 1 Listening, Reading, and Writing: 2 hours 30 minutes, 50% of A-level, 100 marks
    • Paper 2 Writing: 2 hours, 20% of A-level, 80 marks
    • Paper 3 Speaking: 21 – 23 minutes (including 5 minutes preparation), 30% of A-level, 60 marks

You will also have the opportunity to carry out an independent research project on an area of your own personal interest.

Entry requirements

There are no specific requirements to study this course. However, it is strongly recommended that you have studied GCSE Spanish or an equivalent level beforehand.

How long will it take to complete?

The course is 300 study hours. Fast-track options are available. You’ll also have a personal tutor to help you stay on track.
